Program Overview:
Private Lessons are the fastest way to improve in Olympic Épée—because every minute is built around your goals, your habits, and your decision-making. Each session follows a clear structure: assessment → targeted work → guided repetitions → feedback → a measurable next step.
Is This Program Right for You?
Private Lessons are ideal for athletes of any age—from first-time fencers who want a structured start, to competitive students preparing for tournaments. It’s also the best option for athletes who feel “stuck” and need precise correction, or who want to move faster than group training alone.
The Experience
✓ Personalized Plan: training built for your level, schedule, and goals
✓ Immediate Feedback: small corrections that change everything
✓ High Standards: clean repetition, strong fundamentals, and accountability
✓ Tournament Transfer: skills trained exactly as they appear in bouts
EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS
For your first session, athletic clothing and indoor shoes are enough. If you already have fencing gear, bring it. If not, we will guide you on what to purchase and when—so you don’t overspend early.
What is the goal?
✓ Build reliable technique under pressure
✓ Improve distance, timing, and point control
✓ Develop tactical choices (not just “moves”)
✓ Create a repeatable training plan and progression
✓ Translate training into better bout results
Formula
1:1 coaching with a progressive lesson plan. Sessions typically include: warm-up & footwork activation → technical focus → situational drills → tactical decision training → short pressure sets → summary and homework.
Description of process
We start by identifying your current patterns (distance, timing, blade use, footwork habits). Then we focus on one priority theme per lesson—so improvement is visible and measurable. Over time we connect technique to tactics: how to create actions, set traps, and score with confidence against real resistance.
Permissions
Private Lessons are available to all athletes. For advanced tactical work, athletes may be asked to complete an introductory safety session or basic fundamentals check to ensure safe and productive training.
