Group Classes are the backbone of long-term Olympic Épée development. Sessions are carefully structured to combine technical precision, tactical understanding, and competitive awareness—while maintaining a professional, safe, and focused training environment.
Training is organized by level and experience to ensure athletes progress through the correct stages without rushing or skipping fundamentals.

Group Classes are designed for youth, teens, and adults who have completed an introductory or fundamentals program. They are ideal for athletes who want regular, structured training and enjoy learning in a focused group environment with varied partners and situations.

Types of group classes
FUNDAMENTALS GROUP
Focus on posture, footwork, distance control, basic blade actions, and fencing rules. Emphasis is on clean technique, safety, and developing correct habits from the start.
DEVELOPMENT GROUP
Introduces tactical thinking, tempo changes, preparation actions, and decision-making under pressure. Athletes learn how to create and recognize scoring opportunities in realistic fencing situations.
PERFORMANCE GROUP
Advanced technical-tactical work combined with high-intensity drills and structured bouting. Focus on bout management, adaptation to different opponents, and competition readiness.

Formula
Each class follows a repeatable structure:
dynamic warm-up → footwork & coordination → technical drills → tactical scenarios → supervised bouting or controlled exercises → summary and feedback.

Group size and structure allow athletes to fence multiple partners, learn adaptation, and develop confidence—without losing technical precision.
Permissions
Completion of the Introductory Class is required before joining Group Classes or Bouting & Practice.
EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS
Full fencing gear is required for Development and Performance groups. For Fundamentals groups, introductory or club-provided equipment may be used initially. Coaches will advise when athletes are ready to upgrade equipment.
